Implementation of the chamber's strategic
plan is facilitated by member volunteers who serve on various committees at the direction of the chamber's
governing board.
The Chamber's Core Committees are:
Government Affairs Committee This group hosts candidate forums during election cycles, plans Third
Thursday luncheons featuring legislative issues, and discusses policy and its effect on small business. The
committee communicates important matters to the membership, acts as the chamber’s liaison with elected officials at
local, state and federal levels, and recommends official positions to the chamber board. This committee meets the
second Friday of each month at 8:30am. Economic Development
Committee This committee’s mission is to partner with stakeholders and public
officials in the region to ensure economic viability and growth. The committee also plans Third Thursday
luncheons featuring speakers and topics that impact development. This committee meets the third Thursday of
each month at 7:45am. Business Education & Development
(B.E.D.) This group’s responsibility is outreach and education for the smaller
business. It plans speakers for the B.E.D. and Breakfast meetings and works to determine how the chamber can
provide the educational needs of its members. This committee meets the third Thursday of odd months at
8:00am. Chamber Ambassador Program
(C.A.P.) This group serves as mentors to new chamber members. Mentors guide
new chamber members through their first months and establish close relationships while doing it. This
committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 8:00am.
