Founded in 1808, Delaware County is located 20 miles north of Columbus and is the fastest growing suburban county in the State of Ohio and the 21st fastest in the United States. In the city of Delaware, located at the heart of Delaware County, You’ll discover a bedroom community feel among our residents and yet a sophisticated, global approach to art, education, health care and business. Delaware is an energetic city whose downtown benefits from the alignment of a dedicated set of very involved citizens plus municipal officials with policies and a posture favorable to the historic district. The city center has gained from preservation, rehabilitation and reuse of historic buildings. It is this collection of buildings that lends to the character of the downtown district.
