Advocacy
The chamber keeps an eye on policy issues at the local, state and federal levels that effect the business climate. The chamber maintains a relationship with legislators, holds candidate forums and speaks out on behalf of the business community.

Business Referrals
The chamber receives hundreds of requests each year for goods or services provided in our community and recommends chamber member businesses. The chamber encourages members to supply the office with their brochures for display.

Import/Export Certification
Certificates of origin are provided at no cost for businesses exporting merchandise.

Internet Listing
Members are provided free listing on our website and a link to their website. Members may also post their events, “Hot Deals” and job postings on the chamber’s website.

Maps
City and county maps are available at no cost.

Mailing List
The chamber’s membership list is available to chamber members on labels for $10 or as an Excel attachment.

Meeting Room
Our meeting room can accommodate 25 people and is available at no charge to members during business hours. Laptop, projector and wireless Internet are available, and we’ll provide coffee, water and soft drinks.

Newsletter
The chamber publishes a monthly electronic newsletter that includes news from the organization and its members, upcoming events, business-related articles and much more. Telephone Directories
Telephone books are available at no cost.

Welcome Center
The chamber greets visitors to our community and provides them with brochures and information about business and community. The chamber encourages its members to provide their marketing materials for display.

Membership Directory
The Community Profile and Chamber Membership directory is published annually. This high quality, glossy magazine uses text and photos to highlight the quality of life in Delaware County. The publication is distributed from the chamber, realtors, hotels and inns, and other partners to new residents and businesses. Click here to view the 2012 Edition.

Newsletter
Chamber Notes   is published monthly and distributed electronically to over 800 readers. As the organization’s primary source of communication, the newsletter updates educational and networking opportunities and other upcoming events; highlights member news, and offers one of the most popular forms of advertising. Educational Opportunities

Third Thursday with the Chamber
Held at noon on the third Thursday of each month, this luncheon features speakers or panels discussing issues relevant to business. Candidate forums, legislative issues and opportunities to address current business educational needs are the focus.

Safety Council
Each month a luncheon program is presented to encourage safe practices in the workplace. Topics include OSHA regulations, fire safety, drug-free workplace, and much more. Participation in Safety Council can result in a 4% rebate on premiums. Click here to navigate to our safety council page.

B.E.D. and Breakfast
Sponsored by the Business Education and Development Committee, these free monthly breakfast meetings address topics relevant to running a small business: HR issues, cash flow management, marketing, and other membership-driven topics.

Small Business Counseling

The chamber plays host to the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), a free counseling service that help with business plan development and analysis, financial projections, cash flow analysis, marketing, management and much more. The services are valuable to both the entrepreneur and the established business owner.

DISCOUNT PROGRAMS & PLANS

HEALTH INSURANCE 

Members are eligible for affordable group health insurance through Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance plans in Ohio, offering a large network of physicians and hospitals. Dental coverage through Superior Dental Care is also available, including to sole proprietors.

VISION, PRESCRIPTION AND HEARING AID DISCOUNTS

Through our affiliation with the Southern Ohio Chamber Alliance, we’re able to offer our members, their staff and family access to discounts on prescription, vision and hearing aid services. The discounts are not attached to a health insurance plan and may be used at hundreds of local and national service providers.

WORKERS’ COMPENSATION 

Members save on workers’ compensation premiums by enrolling in our group rating plan offered through our affiliation with CompManagement, Incorporated. This third party administrator also offers claims management, advocacy and free workshops and seminars related to Worker’s Compensation. Participating in Safety Council can mean additional premium savings and rebates.

PROGRAMS, EVENTS AND NETWORKING

ANNUAL AWARDS DINNER 

This elegant event held in January, combines the chamber’s annual meeting with a much-anticipated awards ceremony. Each year, businesses and individuals in several categories are honored for their outstanding achievements in the prior year. ANNUAL GOLF OUTING

BUSINESS AFTER HOURS                                 

Hosted by a different chamber business each month, this is a classic chamber networking event.

CHAMBER BUCK$

Designed to encourage the membership to remain engaged and invested in the organization’s growth, this referral rewards program earns the referring member $50 towards any chamber invoice when they bring a new business-class member into the organization.

ANNUAL CLAY CLASSIC

New in 2011, this event is held at Black Wing Shooting Center. Like the golf outing, it’s a great way to recognize employees or clients and a fun half-day of networking and shooting. Click here for more information and pictures.

GOLF NETWORKING LEAGUE

The chamber established an opportunity for members to network in a non-competitive scramble-format weekly golf league. Novice to experienced golfers play in a relaxed atmosphere of a different foursome each week giving members allows members to establish business relationships in a social setting.

LEADERSHIP DELAWARE COUNTY                                                        

This nine-month program promotes future leaders by providing an understanding of critical issues affecting DelawareCounty and beyond. Leadership and stewardship capabilities are developed. Graduates of this elite and respected program are recognized as valued members of the community who have taken their leadership skills to the next level. Graduates go on to serve on local boards.

INTER-ACTIVE WEB SITE

The chamber subscribes to ChamberMaster, an integrated software designed for chambers of commerce. It’s a user-friendly vehicle for communication among the membership and it invites the public to find you and directs business to you.

You can post a “Hot Deal” that drives business to your door. You can also ask to be notified when other members post a deal so you can take advantage of big savings.

In addition, you can advertise your events directing RSVPs right to you, and the website allows you to post job openings.

It all begins on the site’s membership section when you click on “Current Member Log In”. From there, you’re directed to all the terrific features, all FREE with your chamber membership. You’ll get your user name and password with your paid membership.
